Making the Christian faith accessible through Makaton Signs and Symbols
Welcome to the Know and Grow Makaton workshop, where we aim to make the Christian faith accessible to all through the power of Makaton signs and symbols. This unique workshop has been developed in collaboration with the Christian accessibility charity, Count Everyone In, to integrate the Makaton Communication Programme with Christian teachings.
About the workshop
"Know and Grow Makaton" is an innovative and comprehensive workshop designed to bridge the gap between Makaton and the Christian faith. By participating in this workshop, you will learn everyday Makaton vocabulary, as well as specific terms associated with Christianity. This will enable you to facilitate and promote inclusive signing within church settings, ensuring that everyone can participate fully in worship and community life.
What you will learn
Everyday Makaton: Master the basics of Makaton to improve day-to-day communication.
Christian vocabulary: Learn specific Makaton signs related to Christian teachings.
Inclusive practices: Discover techniques to create a more inclusive environment in your church or faith community.
